Hypertext Markup Language, or HTML, is the skeleton of every web page, and the base. It organizes and structures everything, and required when making sites. The best part about it? It's easy to learn.

CSS Path

Cascading Style Sheets, or CSS, is just what it stands for. HTML was once for styling, but it became very tedious. Thus, CSS was born. Now, CSS is the skin of the website and the language for styling web pages with fancy and simple designs.

JavaScript Path

This powerful scripting language is used to build lightweight applications with enhanced user interfaces. It's the muscles of a web page, making things interactive and moving. Go ahead, try it.

MediaWiki Path

What's behind all of the Wikia development? Like the slideshows, galleries, special pages, photos, etc? MediaWiki. MediaWiki is a free software open source package written in PHP originally used for Wikipedia. Now it's used for Wikia and other projects.

PHP Path

PHP (acronym for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) is a widely-used open source general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for web development and can be embedded into HTML. What distinguishes PHP from something like client-side JavaScript is that the code is executed on the server, generating HTML which is then sent to the client. The client would receive the results of running that script, but would not know what the underlying code was.

Ruby Path

Ruby has been gaining popularity, and a framework called Ruby on Rails has helped to increase its usage for web programming. The Ruby language is completely object-oriented, in that everything is an object. For instance, even the most basic data types like integers have methods and instance variables. This provides a greater ability to use method chaining, where many lines of code can be consolidated into one.
