HTML has a unique comment syntax which is very different than most languages. An HTML comment will only apply to the HTML structure of a page. For example, if you start an internal stylesheet or script, an HTML comment will have no effect. The HTML comment syntax is very simple. An example is below:

A multi-lined comment would look like this:

<!--
Insert 1st line
Insert other lines after
-->

Everything in between the the <!-- and --> symbols is ignored by the browser.
